Change negative thinking

Promise yourself this: for every negative thought, you are going to think something positive. And stick with it for a month.

It's really hard to do.

If you can go for a month, chances are the change will become permanent. It takes 30 days to change a habit.

How much brighter would things be if you were more positive? How much stress would it relieve?

How much happier would you be?

Try it.

Waking up early

For some people, waking up early is a natural thing. For others, waking up early is virtually an impossible thing to do. Using the motivational tips can give you a better way to start the day.

Wake up to the right environment.
Believe it or not but the way your room looks can help or hinder your ability to wake up early. A messy room will generally make you less likely to wake up early. Chaos is an energy drainer.

When you wake up to a clean room, just the sight of it can be energizing and make you jump out of bed. At least you’ve got one less worry to think about.

So spend some time sprucing up your environment.

Put away what needs put away.

Clean what needs cleaned.

Hang some artwork.

Buy an area rug.

Make your space a place you truly enjoy being in.

About moitivation

There will always be times in your life when you have to do things that are unpleasant. It could be working with a co-worker you don't like, going to work on Mondays, taking the garbage out, driving to meet the in-laws at the airport, having dinner with the spouse's friends... Doing these things just sucks whatever motivation you have inside you. There are also things inside you that actually make it even more difficult to feel excited and enthusiastic?  Get to learn the factors that make you hard to motivate:

Your mindset
Your mindset is a major factor that can make you hard for you to get motivated.  This is because it can severely cloud your understanding of the world and all experiences in general.  Your mindset can sometimes be composed of growth-inhibiting beliefs, prejudices, biases and standards.

For example, if you refuse to believe that you can actually write for a city newspaper because you're a person from a small town, you'll miss out on an opportunity to expose your talent and reap its rewards.

Your comfort zone
We all have limitations in our minds, these are things we decide on based on our own personal beliefs, ethics and standards.  Within these limits, we feel comfortable in and can pretty much do as we like.

When that zone is disrupted, we begin to feel discomfort, shyness, embarrassment or annoyance.  We do not wish to go further because we do not like what we don't know or haven't experienced.  Because we have a fear of the unknown, we'd rather stay within our comfort zones because we feel safe there.

The problem is that a narrow comfort zone can hinder you motivations.  Each time you are presented with a new idea or experience, you check to see if it fits into your comfort zone.  If it doesn’t, then you simply refuse, no questions asked.  This is unfortunate because many of these ideas and experiences can be good for you.  But you'll probably never know because you don't have the motivation to try them.

Your background has a lot to do with how you decide things in your life. If these experiences are negative, they tend to make you more hesitant and unsure of yourself because they affect your self-esteem and confidence, which can affect your motivation.

If you've only been met with rejection or ridicule in your life, it's no wonder you don't feel a strong need to excel or to improve yourself.  You'll probably be thinking – 'So what?  Nothing I ever did was good anyway.  Why would things change now?'

Unless you consciously make an effort to identify past experiences and refuse to let them rule your life, you will always have a problem with motivation.

Do you think too much?

Thinking too much can take up a lot of your time. And leave you with no time for other things.

Of course you should think before you act. There's nothing wrong with planning either. Just don't become the person who only thinks and plans.

Don't wait for the time to be perfect, it never will be. Don't plan for every problem that could arise, you'll never be able to cover it all.

Stop thinking and do what you need to do. The more you put things off, the worse the procrastination will get. Make it a habit to spend more time doing.

Know your values

You must know what is most important to you.  Make a list of your values and make sure they agree with your life goals.

Goals that do not match your values do not enhance your life.  If your goals are out of alignment with your values, you will need to reevaluate them.

Budgeting: Finding out what you REALLY spend

In the first post, I had you set up just the basic budget, now we're going to delve a bit deeper.

For the next month, I want you to spend as you normally would, but don't spend anything without getting a receipt for it. In order to get a true idea of your finances, you have to get a true idea of what you're spending.

So money doesn't go out without a receipt coming in....for everything. This includes purchases made on credit cards, after all, that is technically money you're spending.

At the end of every day, go home and put these receipts in a box. Or you can add them up every day. Both ways work.

At the end of the month, add up all your receipts. Subtract the amount from your previous total. Do you have money left over? Are you in the red?

In the next budgeting post, we'll discuss planning out reachable financial goals.

Budgeting: Setting up a basic monthly budget

This is going to be the first in a series of articles on budgeting and setting financial goals. Each part will build on the previous part so we're going to start out with the very basics.

You need to write this out in one form or another. It can be on a sheet of paper, on the computer, or in a notebook write out you monthly bills. Include only those bills that never change, like car payments, housing payments, etc. Just the basics.

Now at the top, write down your monthly income. Add up the bills, then subtract them from your income. Circle what you get.

The idea is to get a view of your monthly finances, how much money you have coming in and going out.

Your end total is going to change. I'll show you how in the next post.

Setting goals

Not everyone is skilled at setting goals out. Some need a little bit of help. That is exactly what this list will do.

  1. Goals should be as specific as possible. It you want a promotion, set a goal of when and what position you will hold. If you are not about what exactly you want, you won't be able to get there.
  2. Measure you progress. Specific goals make it easier to see where you stand and if any adjustments need to be made.
  3. Make your goals challenging. Not to the point that they are unachievable, but they make you work for them.
  4. Goals should fit in with you life plan. Don't do something because everyone says you should. Do it because it is part of the direction you want to go in.
  5. Give your goals a set time for completion. When you have a deadline to meet, it makes you take more action towards your goals.
  6. Most importantly, put it all on paper. Think of it as a road map for your life. You don't just want them in your head, they need some kind of physical manifestation.

These tips will help you get started setting goals for yourself and getting your life headed in the direction you want.

Diet: Things to think about

Here's a few things to consider when having a meal while trying to loose weight.

  1. What is a serving size to you? Most people eat 2-3 times what an actual portion is. It may take some getting used to, but try eating what a portion size is suppose to be.
  2. Are you watching TV? This is a big no-no. If you're watching TV, then you're occupied with what's on and not how much you're eating or how fast. Turn the tube off for meals.
  3. What did you have for breakfast? It's not a myth, you should always have breakfast. The nice thing is, you can eat a calorie heavy meal for breakfast. You're body will burn off the calories during the day.
  4. Is eating a race for you? Learn to eat slower. It takes up to 15 minutes for your stomach to signal the brain that you are full. So don't try to rush it, you'll end up eating more than you should.

These are just a few things to keep in mind while trying to loose weight. By paying a little more attention to meals and slowing down to enjoy them, you can loose.

First money maker: Adgitize

I don't want to turn this into a full on money making site, I but do occasionally want to share my easy money making ventures with you.

Adgitize your web site.

Right now, the only maker I have is Adgitize.

It's a great site. You earn points for showing ads, writing blog posts and click on ads (up to 100). And those points convert to cash. It's really easy to do and doesn't take much time every day. I would reccomend it to anyone, it's a great way to make a little money and it has a great deal of potential.

With doing all of that, I'm earning about $0.20 a day. Which isn't much, but I'm not doing a lot to earn that either. So, it's the first to go on my list of money makers:

Adgitize $6.00 a month
